HANDING OF THE AWARD

The 3rd gala Golden Heart Award presentation ceremony was held at the "Rossiya" State Concert Hall on May 21, 2006. This award is given for unselfish service to the higher ideals of mankind. By tradition, the famous Italian screen star Sophia Loren acted as the Patroness of the ceremony.

Out of a long list of worthy candidates for the Award, the Organizing Committee and the Council of Trustees selected ten names. Fifteen Russian and foreign media outlets chose those who received the Award at the ceremony.   In detail...

The second ceremony of the presentation of the "Golden Heart" Award - for serving the uppermost ideals of mankind - and a charitable concert for advancing the "Lifeline" Program to help gravely-ill children were held in the State Central Concert Hall "Rossiya" on May 21.

The Golden Heart Award ceremony and a benefit concert will take place in “Rossiya Concert Hall” on May 21, 2005. The concert will include appearances by the following artists: NATALIA OREIRO, EMMA SHAPLIN, AMICI FOREVER, «Slivky», «Bravo», «Moralny Kodeks», «ABBOS», Alexandr Rosenbaum, Angelika Varum, Leonyd Agutin, Laima Vaikulle, Lev Leschenko, Nikolai Baskov, Tamara Gverzitelli, Grigory Leps, Igor Demarin, Sergey Trofimov. The patroness of the event SOPHIA LOREN.

The ceremony will be shown on TV (NTV) on June 1, 2005, as part of the Childhood’s Protection Day and SMS marathon to support The Life Line Charity Programme for children who suffer from serious,life-threatening conditions.

The first Golden Heart Award for protection of natural and cultural heritage, according to the decision of the founders, was given to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in April, 2004.
