ADDRESS FROM THE TRUSTEE BOARD
AND STEERING COMMITTEE

Nothing on Earth is more valuable than human life.

Humanitarism is about the desire to devote one's time, resources, skills and knowledge to the well-being of others and to saving the lives of those who are vulnerable or in danger. It refers to a willingness to serve people, sometimes even at the expense of one's own life. People's inborn ability to sometimes make self-sacrifices has always been regarded as a sign of humanity. To work hard without asking for the reward, often anonymously or for no self glory - will always excite general admiration.

Today, many children's lives across the world are threatened by disease, exploitations and other negative factors.

The main idea behind the Golden Heart Award is to find, acknowledge and encourage those who consider it their mission to serve humanity in times of terrorism, regional conflict, the depreciation of humanitarian ideals and propaganda of violence.

We all live in a small world and we have a common destiny. Only through joint action can we move forward from the politics of intimidation, violence and intrusion to the poilitics of dialogue, understanding and peace.

We genuinely hope that the Golden Heart Award will serve to unify people's good will across the world.

The steering committee of the award works closely with the Programme to save children with life-threatening diseases and health conditions called LIFE LINE.

As part of the project implementation we plan to hold charity events. The money raised will be used to treat children (in the first instance those with oncological diseases and birth defects), invalids and children in need.
